Program complex «Design» is a part of the system «JULIVI» and is meant for creation and modification of patterns. The program «Design» allows to solve the following tasks:
Construction of basic patterns according to existing methods;
Construction of derived and auxiliary pieces;
Construction of uniform pieces;
Pattern modification (modeling).
An additional program «Size databases», meant for creating and editing size features database to be used for plotting projects in the program «Design», is included in the complex «Design».
Drafting a pattern
A pattern is drafted by a constructor the same way it would have been done manually. Specified values are drafted by various methods in various directions from a starting point. This section describes in detail all functions, used for drafting, as well as ways to correct an algorithm, composed by the program according to the drawing of the constructor.
Operations with pieces
It is possible to compose actual patterns from a constructed drawing of a pattern, specifying contours of their finished view, inner contours and grainlines by means of special functions. Created pieces can be used for further operations: construct seams on them, draft them on a plotter, etc.
This section reviews the following subjects:
process of creating pieces from separate construction elements;
screen operations (for pieces);
setting seam parameters and constructing seams;
seam algebra (for pieces);
modification of cut contours;
sending pieces on plotter or printer;

Method for modifying drawing
After basic pattern is constructed, further operations can be performed in the program «Design», for constructing model patterns.
Modeling actions are performed upon switching to the tab «Modifications» in the mode of operations with a drawing. These functions are performed before the final assembly of the contour, and final piece assembly from these contours.
Special features of operations
Nonlinear values (coefficients, shares, parts) must be included in square brackets when filling out reference data and inputting expressions while performing all commands of the program
Quotation marks cannot be used in the name of a size database or project
Functions Deformation (tab «Line») and Modeling (tab «Modifications») must be performed before an operation «Assemble contour», otherwise changes in the drawing will not be transferred to the contour. This allows to perform further actions for constructing auxiliary pieces after details of top section are constructed and contours, pieces of the top section are assembled.
To enter expressions with algebraic and trigonometric functions, the following letter combinations must be used following the formula А = function (В):
